Orthoceras Fossil Specimen

It is a genus of an extinct cephalopod which lived within its elongated shell. That is what has been preserved in this specimen. They are said to be similar to our modern day squid.

This piece would look great in a stand on display. Only the top side has only been polished.

Orthoceras fossils are dated back to the Silurian Age 400 + million years ago.
